Our Client, a leading healthcare analytics and population health management vendor, had embarked on a project to modernize their product suite and the underlying software platform, but the development process was not going smoothly. The initial phases of the new product versions were continually delayed, and the delivered results were not what the product management organization expected. They recognized that a more formalized program management and governance structure was needed to deliver the right product to market within the promised timeframes.
The CEO asked Trexin to do the following:
- Establish a governance structure that would improve communication between the technical staff and the business teams.
- Help to get the project to regain its footing and follow it through to a successful completion.
Approach
Trexin quickly established a new leadership structure with clear roles and responsibilities. We put processes in place that ensured efficient and effective communication across the different stakeholder groups. This framework made it possible to manage complex programs and create appropriate levels of engagement across the organization. Clear escalation paths were developed to ensure quick resolution of potential issues. Useful tracking and reporting methods were put into place. These actions served to better bridge the gap that had developed between the technical staff and the business team.
Results
Once Trexin had established the new governance structure and installed the improved framework for project delivery, our Client was not only able to get the project back on track, but they were able to accelerate the development process and deliver their new product on time. And upon completion of the project, Trexin’s team then executed a transition plan to seamlessly transfer their knowledge to our Client’s staff. Our Client now possesses proven models of effective governance structure and successful program management, and they have begun to apply these methodologies to subsequent projects.
