Reimagine Healthcare Through Data 2015

On February 26th, the Pittsburg Blue Steakhouse in Edina, MN was the site of a Healthcare thought leadership event on the topic of “Reimagine Healthcare through Data: Aggregating and Exchanging Data to Improve Patient Outcomes”. The event was co-sponsored by Trexin Consulting’s Healthcare Analytics practice and MarkLogic, the leading Enterprise NoSQL vendor and a strategic partner of Trexin’s.

Approximately fifteen local Healthcare Analytics and IT senior executives joined with Trexin and MarkLogic Healthcare specialists to enjoy an informal roundtable on innovating healthcare with data. The conversation was led by three industry experts, who gave brief presentations to lead off the discussion:

The first presenter was Ngan MacDonald, Trexin Health Economics Lead. Ngan served as MC of the evening and briefly described Trexin’s focus on Applied Health Economics:

The second presenter was Noland Joiner, MarkLogic Chief Technology Officer – Global Healthcare and Life Science. Noland spoke of the excitement of applying new database paradigms such as NoSQL to breaking down silos in healthcare by integrating heterogeneous data sources.

The third Presenter was Jeffrey Hill, Trexin Healthcare Provider Lead and Client Relationship Executive. He spoke on the topic of “Beyond Interoperability Leveraging Actionable Data and Analytics.

The combination of an industry focused event, blue chip attendees and first rate, focused presentations by MarkLogic and Trexin thought leaders led to unusually vibrant discussions. Several people commented on the “buzz” in the room.
